Full Description
February 2008. Norfolk NMP.
The site of World War Two rifle range is visible on aerial photographs located on an area of heathland to the west of Bintree Woods (S1-S4). The site is centred on TF 9971 2185. This site is located to the south of the County School, a Watts Naval Training School from 1903 to 1949 (NHER 2934). This site appears to have been commandeered for military use during the war (see NHER 50913) and it is likely that the troops using the rifle range were stationed at the School. This site is outside of the ALSF NMP mapping area so none of the features has been mapped.
S. Massey (NMP), 28 February 2008.
