Summary

The site of a World War Two communications or defensive structure is visible on aerial photographs to the north of Common Farm, Billingford. It is likely that this formed part of either the defensive or radio communications for Swanton Morley airfield (NHER 2830), which is located approximately 1km to the south.

The site of a World War Two communications or defensive structure is visible on aerial photographs to the north of Common Farm, Billingford (S1-S3). It is likely that this formed part of either the defensive or radio communications for Swanton Morley airfield (NHER 2830), which is located approximately 1km to the south. The site is centred on TG 0176 1982.

The site consists of a rectangular structure or hut surrounded by a blast wall. This structure was set within a square fenced off area set within an arable field. At the edge of the field is second pitched-roof structure.
