Map

March 2008. Norfolk NMP.
A small group of pits and possible trenches are visible on aerial photographs alongside the Dereham Road (S1). These are likely to relate to World War Two defensive and training features associated with the military camp and headquarters based at Bylaugh Hall (NHER 44346). These possible weapons pits and trenches are located next to one of the woodland belts of Bylaugh Park and therefore the earthworks cannot be clearly discerned though the trees. It therefore not possible that the nature of the features to be confidently identified. Consequently it is possible that these features are not military and relate to road maintenance or a similar activity.
S. Massey (NMP), 03 March 2008.
