Summary

The cropmarks of a trackway of unknown, but possibly late prehistoric to Roman date, are visible on aerial photographs to the south of Thieves Bridge Road, Watlington. This trackway leads towards two groups of enclosures, one of probable Roman date (NHER 50944) and another group of possible late prehistoric date (NHER 50943), although the dating of this site is less certain. The trackway may be associated with these earlier enclosures, although this is completely clear from the cropmarks.
