Summary

In 1959 a Roman copper alloy bracelet with snake head terminals was recovered from this site, and a further bracelet and a spoon, along with some animal bones were found later that year. In 1961 another snake terminal bracelet was also recovered, along with part of a finger ring, a fragment of decorated copper alloy and a small bead.

Bronze bracelet with snake head terminals. In NCM [1].

Another bronze bracelet (S1) and spoon (S2), animal bones (horse, pig, ?ox, ?deer) found.
Bracelet and spoon on loan to NCM [2].

1961. Southwest end of Bromehill (Northeast corner of ballast pit on west side of railway line).
1. bronze bracelet with snake terminals (S3 and S4).
2. Part of bronze finger ring with green glass in bezel (S5). On loan to NCM [3].
Drawings in NCM (copy (S1) in file). Small decorated piece of bronze, glass cylindrical bead (green) and ?green bead (maybe modern).
