Map

January 2007. Earthwork Rapid Identification Survey.
Oak Wood Site 15:
A shallow pit was identified during an earthwork survey of Oak Wood, Crackling Hill, and Sheringham Wood. The pit measures approximately 8m by 5m and is terraced into the east-facing slope. Spoil was identified to the east of the pit. It has been interpreted as a small extraction pit. No dating evidence was recovered, but it is possible that it is related to World War Two military activity in Oak Wood (NHER 38264).
