Full Description
January 2007. Earthwork Rapid Identification Survey.
Oak Wood Site 20:
A group of four shallow, sub-circular pits was identified during a rapid earthwork survey of Oak Wood, Cracking Hill, and Sheringham Wood. The depressions measure up to 4m in diameter and 0.3m deep and are similar in form to iron-working pits. However, little spoil was visible. Groups of ironworking pits have previously been identified nearby in Sheringham Park (NHER 38344) and in Weybourne Wood (NHER 6280, NHER 6281, NHER 6282, NHER 38640) to the southwest.
