Summary

An east-west bank identified during a rapid earthwork survey of Sheringham Wood. This bank appears to be a western continuation of the outer wood bank and may have extended further west to link two segmetns of the outer boundary. It has been interpreted as either a former internal boundary or an outer wood bank pre-dating one or more of the other boundary features (see NHER 51369) identified in the wood.

Sheringham Wood Site 8:
An east-west bank running from TG1353 4169 to TG 1371 4161 was identified during a rapid earthwork survey of Sheringham Wood. This bank is located approximately 5m north of the drive, and appears to be a western continuation of the outer wood bank. It may have contined to link to the outer boundary at TG 1339 4183, and has been interpreted as either a former internal boundary or one pre-dating one or more of the other boundary features (see NHER 51369).
