Summary

A wide, sinuous depression identified during an earthwork survey of Sheringham Wood. It has been interpreted as a possible hollow way, but as no evidence has been recovered indicating that it led from or to other features, it may be at least in part a natural feature.

Sheringham Wood Site 14:
A sinuous linear depression measuring up to 10m wide and 1.2m deep was identified during a rapid earthwork survey of Sheringham Wood. The feature runs southward from the north-western corner of the wood, gradually merging with the surrounding landscape at its southern end. It has been interpreted as a possible hollow way, but as no evidence has been recovered indicating that it led from or to other features, it may be at least in part a natural feature.
