Summary

A large bank identified during a rapid earthwork survey of Sheringham Wood and corresponding to a boundary marked on early 19th century maps. While this boundary is located outside of Sheringham Wood (NHER 51360), it appears to link to the outer boundary and may be contemporary.

Sheringham Wood Site 24:
A bank measuring approximately 3-4m wide and 0.5m high was identified during a rapid earthwork survey of Sheringham Wood and corresponds to a boundary marked on early 19th century maps. While this boundary is located outside of Sheringham Wood, it appears to link to the outer boundary and may be contemporary. A section of lesser bank also extends for 35m to the southeast from a point approximately 25m from the junction of the bank with the boundary of Sheringham Wood.
