Summary

Archaeological work at this site between 2008 and 2010 identified a single small pit of probable Early Neolithic date. This feature was investigated during trial trenching in 2008. No additional remains were recorded during the monitoring of subsequent groundworks in 2009/2010, although a number of medieval finds were apparently recorded from the topsoil.

Evaluation of site on proposed route of Sheringham Shoals Offshore Windfarm Grid Connection cable (Trenches 31, 31a, 32 and 32a).
One of the four trenches excavated at this location exposed a small sub-circular pit that was found to contain two sherds of Early Neolithic pottery and a moderate amount of burnt flint.
Unstratified finds included a flint blade of possible Early Neolithic date, two possible worked flints and a number of potentially prehistoric burnt flints.

2009-2010. Watching Brief.
Monitoring of topsoil stripping and other groundworks associated with installation of the Sheringham Shoals Offshore Windfarm Grid Connection cable.
