Summary

Metal-detecting between 2008 and 2020 recovered Roman, ?Late Saxon, medieval and medieval/post-medieval pottery sherds; medieval and post-medieval coins; medieval and post-medieval jettons and a number of other, Early Saxon to post-medieval metal objects. These metal finds include an Early Saxon gold mount or stud; a Late Saxon/medieval lead spindle whorl; medieval buckles (including an enamelled example possibly from Limoges); a medieval/post-medieval purse frame, writing lead and copper alloy vessel fragments; post-medieval shoe buckles, a strap clasp, lead cloth seal and lead weights.

Full Description

Metal-detecting, before 28 May 2008.
1 ?Late Saxon pottery sherd.
1 medieval coin, 7 pottery sherds and a buckle.
2 medieval/post-medieval pottery sherds, a purse frame, writing lead, cast copper alloy vessel leg and foot and copper alloy probable vessel repair patch.
1 post-medieval jetton, shoe buckles, strap clasp and lead cloth seal.
