Map

February 1990.
Report of well discovered, full of bodies that turned out to be tailor's dummies. Research (S1) revealed that this site contained stables for Grout's Silk Factory on the other side of Factory Road. Beneath the stables was a well, from which a tunnel took water into the factory for the boilers. This is the origin of the name Well Street and it has nothing to do with the North Well of the town.
See correspondence (S1) in file.
