Map

Field Survey, August 2007.
Report from Norfolk CSI of human remains found under yard at the back of no's 9-10 Mere Street. Findspot was a pit in section in south side of former rear yard. Beneath present yard surface was a horizontal layer of what appeared to be slate. Pit was cut down from this into natural sandy deposit and contained dark fill with late Post-Medieval building material and bones. The bones consisted of longbones and ribs, probably cow (possibly some horse). This suggests it was a refuse deposit from a butcher or tanner, probably of late Post-Medieval date.
