Map

Field Survey, 2 November 2007.
Brick shed (3x2metres x3metres high) with a concrete roof. Aligned roughly north-south. Two windows in the north end and a door in the south wall. Interior contains the remains of window frames and a wooden door, presumably removed from the spaces. An area of the east wall interior is painted black, as if for chalked messages. Typical Home Guard shelter. Now very overgrown with ivy.
(S1) notes a response from Plumstead Parish Council to the planning application for the Sheringham Shoal windfarm cable route referring to 'World War II military infrastructure and a Home Guard Selter behind the house called Fenmoor'. There is however no trace on the ground or on 1940s aerial photography of any other military structures here and non are known to the residents of the adjacent 1930s housing estate. Fenmoor and the adjacent Everic are post-War houses. The shelter will not be affected by the cable route.
