Full Description
November 2008. Watching Brief.
Monitoring of excavation of footing trenches for new residential dwellings.
A small quantity of Roman pottery and possible ceramic building material were recovered from the north-eastern part of the site including a possible pit feature of Roman date. Other features of unknown date such as small pits and ditches could also be Roman but the lack of finds could suggest they post date Roman activity.
See report (S1) for further details.
The associated archive has been deposited with the Norwich Castle Museum (NWHCM : 2016.99).
S. Howard (NLA), 19 November 2009. Amended by P. Watkins (HES), 21 June 2019.
