Full Description
November 2008. Norfolk NMP.
An undated linear ditch feature is visible at TG 2921 1319 as a cropmark on aerial photographs (S1). It runs northwest-southeast for approximately 110m, and is on a similar alignment to, and therefore may perhaps be related to the settlement described in NHER 50729. The feature is evident running almost at right-angles to what is now a field boundary but may once have been (at least in part) a road or trackway named Ravensgate Way, depicted on a map of 1585 (NHER 8127); map reproduced schematically in (S2). It seems possible that this feature represents a field boundary, and a late medieval or early post medieval date seems most likely, with the site occupying a former common-edge position in relation to Mousehold Heath. The linear features approximately 300m to the north-east (NHER 51926) may also have represented a field boundary.
E. Bales (NMP), 17 November 2008.

The undated linear ditch feature (see above) is also visible as a cropmark on S2.
