Map

November 2008. Norfolk NMP.
Cropmark of a possible Bronze Age ring ditch is visible on aerial photographs (S1). The cropmark is centred at TG 2948 1234. The ring ditch is sub-circular to sub-oval in plan with a 2m wide ditch and a maximum external diameter of approximately 23m.

The ditch appears to have a break of approximately 12m in its circumference, although this may be due to masking of the archaeology. It is possible that it is of Bronze Age date and could relate to a round barrow. Other possible ring ditch cropmarks are located at approximately 425m to the northeast (NHER 51928), and at 1225m and 1585m to the northeast (NHER 45115 and 45116 respectively). A paleolithic hand axe, possibly reworked in the Neolithic period, was found 100m to the southeast (NHER 8151).
