Summary

A geophysical survey carried out in January 2009 did not detect any archaeological anomalies. Trial trenching identified a post medieval drainage ditch and a calf burial. The assessment of the aerial photographs for this area revealed possible ditch-like features in the vicinity of this site, some of which may in fact relate to the surveyed and excavated drainage features noted above, see NHER 54676 for details.

January 2009. Geophysical Survey.
Magnetometry survey of proposed development areas.
Modern agricultural features were detected over the majority of the site. A field drainage system was identified on the east of the site, but no significant archaeological anomalies were detected.

2009. Trial Trenching.
Evaluation of proposed development areas. From Context 1.
A post-medieval ditch was located in Trench 4, and in Trench 8 an E-W service trench and articulated calf burial were identified. No other archaeological finds or features were recorded.
