February 2006. Building Survey.
Photographic record made of buildings at Meadow Farm, prior to their proposed conversion.
Site of an old farm settlement, which has been abandoned for some years and is in a state of disrepair. The settlement consists of a farmhouse, originally orientated East- West. Much of the original has now gone and has been replaced with a smaller construction oriented north- south. Barns lie to the south of the house and consist of a main barn which is timber-framed with additional lean- to. The roof is entirely modern, and both gable end walls have been reconstructed in masonry. The barn is of four unequal bays with wattle and daub infill. A Victorian end barn of clay lump, brick and flint walls with a pantiled softwood roof was added during the 19th or possibly 20th centuries. A small clay lump shed with clay lump walls and a pantiled softwood roof was possibly built in the same period as the Victorian barn. Proposals have been received regarding the conversion of the three barns.
