NHER 52003 (Cropmark and Earthwork record) - Cropmarks of undated ditches

Undated linear ditches were visible as cropmarks on aerial photographs (S1)–(S2), centred at TG 2738 0939. These features consist of a possible pair of parallel curvilinear ditches curving from the north-east to the south, approximately 8m apart, which could represent a possible trackway. These features, together with two other linear features oriented roughly north west-south east but sited approximately 60m apart, were only visible on one set of photographs (S1).

A second pair of ditches, to the east, centred on TG 2745 0935, may or may not be related to those to the west, and were also only visible on one set of photographs (S2), thus are recorded with a note of caution. Evidence of irregular geological banding showing as cropmarks running diagonally north east-south west over much of this area to the east of Pound Lane (S3) was noted but not mapped.
