Summary

Two small dugout trenches with banks surrounding them, potentially gun emplacements, were visible as earthworks on aerial photographs, near to the Bungay Road to Norwich. These appear to be evidence of World War Two defences.

Two small dugout trenches with banks surrounding them, potentially gun emplacements, were visible as earthworks on aerial photographs (S1), centred at TG 2539 0611. These appear to be evidence of World War Two defences, sited in close proximity to the Bungay Road.
The northern-most of the two is roughly C shaped, measuring 2.2m by 2.6m, and is centred at TG 2540 0623, 62m to the northwest of the junction of Bungay Road and Loddon Road.
The southern-most is roughly T-shaped, and measures 4.3m by 2m, and is centred at TG 2539 0599, on a field boundary 85m to the northwest of the Bungay Road.
