Summary

Earthworks of a possible World War Two practice trench are visible on RAF aerial photographs from 1945. This trench is likely to be part of World War Two training in the Mousehold Anti-Aircraft Battery area and may be related to possible practice trenches situated 170m to the north (NHER 51902).

Earthworks of a possible World War Two practice trench are visible on RAF aerial photographs from 1945 (S1). The slit trench, which is 0.5m wide, is L-shaped and is situated at TG 2531 0984. Corresponding banks of up-cast spoil can be seen to either side of the trench, up to 1.2m in width. This trench is likely to be part of World War Two training in the Mousehold Anti-Aircraft Battery area (NHER 12415) and may be related to possible practice trenches situated 170m to the north (NHER 51902). The trench has been levelled and the area built over by 1988 (S2).
