Full Description
May 2009. Building Survey.
Survey of building prior to its proposed conversion.
The building is believed to have been used by a coal marchant as a stable and this function is supported by the fixtures and fittings remaining in the structure. The main area of the building excluding the southern bay is a single construction episode comprising clay lump on a brick plinth with timber framed gables dating to the 19th century.The 1840s Tithe map indicates that the building postdates the 1840s but was present by the 1880s. Many of the timbers have bee reused and it could be possible that these were taken from the farm building shown on the Tithe map.
