Summary

A zig-zag World War Two slit/practice trench is visible on aerial photographs directly opposite the junction of Thorpe Road and Harvey Lane. Four ancillary structures of varying size are also visible within the field, the largest of which has the appearance of a Nissen hut style structure. It is therefore possible that the area was in use as a military training ground, and that it may be related to possible slit trenches visible just over 300m to the south (NHER 52120).
