Map

July 2009. Building Survey.
Survey of barn prior to its proposed conversion.
A combined threshing barn and stable constructed from brick with a thatched roof. The details of the brickwork and the general appearance of the building suggests that it dates to c.1820 with the building first appearing on maps in 1840. It is probable that the barn was always associated with the Hall and that the dwelling nearby was have been a stockman's house or served a similar function. Many of the details including the upper openings in the southwest gable have been obscured by 20th century alterations but it is likely that they would have lit the hayloft of the stable.
See report (S1) for further details.
