Summary

The cropmarks of a fragment of trackway or multiple ditched boundary of unknown date are visible on aerial photographs to the east of Larter Farm, Haveringland. It is possible that these cropmarks represent a fragmentary continuation of those 126m to the north (NHER 52356), which may date to the late prehistoric period.

Map

October 2009. Norfolk NMP.
The cropmarks of a fragment of trackway or multiple ditched boundary of unknown date are visible on aerial photographs (S1) to the east of Larter Farm, Haveringland. The parallel ditches are centred on TG 1690 1915, and are situated 3.8m apart.
An Iron Age (or late Bronze Age to Iron Age) date for other multi-ditched boundary features in Norfolk, such as those to the 126m to the north (NHER 52356), has been postulated on the basis of their parallels elsewhere in the country.
However, it is not possible to determine whether these features are indeed related to those recorded as NHER 52356, as they may relate to medieval to post medieval features. It is also worth noting that they are only visible on one set of photographs, and have therefore been recorded with caution.
E. Bales (NMP), October 2009.
