Map

January 2010. Norfolk NMP.
Two large pits are visible as earthworks and cropmarks on aerial photographs on land to the south of Lydgate Lodge, Morley. They are centred on TG 0672 0089 and TG 0691 0083.
They both measure approximately 33m in diameter, and , as they are visible as filled-in pits on 1946 photography, it is assumed that they do not represent bomb craters, but are more likely to be a result of post medieval extraction, or ‘marl’ pits.
E. Bales (NMP), January 2010.
