Map

February 2010. Norfolk NMP.
A ditch or possible trackway is visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs (S1) to the north of Snetterton airfield, running from TM 0058 9071 to TM 0061 9065.
The ditch measures 10m in width and 64m in length. It is only visible on one set of aerial photographs, and has therefore been recorded with a note of caution.
This area has also been identified as the possible site of the deserted Medieval village of Ashby in the NMR record for the site, indicated by `Ashby' place-names (S2). No evidence had been found on the ground, however, and it is not certain that this feature relates to the village of Ashby.
E. Bales (NMP), 10 February 2010.

May-June 2001. Fieldwalking survey area A31.
A concentration of medieval pottery was recovered from this area and the lack of nearby settlement within the villages of Shropham and Quidenham could suggest that this concentration may derive from an isolated farmstead rather than from manuring from known medieval townships.
See (S3) and (S4).
S. Howard (NLA), 23 March 2010.
