Map

February 2010. Norfolk NMP.
Several linear ditches are visible as cropmarks on aerial photographs (S1)-(S2) on land to the east of Swangey Lane, Great Ellingham.
Those to the north, centred on TM 0075 9529, are located within an area of several post medieval field boundaries, and it is likely that these ditches also represent post medieval field boundaries, or even modern agricultural marks, and thus they have been mapped with a note of caution.
The pair of parallel linear ditches to the south west, centred on TM 0056 9501, do not appear to correspond with any features on the available historic maps of the area, but they are parallel to an existing field boundary to the north, and they may represent drainage features as they appear to run towards the drainage ditches on the southern sides of the field. Thus these features may also be relatively modern in date.
E. Bales (NMP), 12 February 2010.
