Map

February 2010. Norfolk NMP.
Several linear ditches are visible as slight earthworks or soilmarks on aerial photographs (S1) on land to the east of Swangey Lane, Great Ellingham. They are centred on TM 0073 9473.
It is possible that these features represent a fragmentary enclosure of unknown date, measuring a possible maximum of 44m by 25m, with a parallel ditch to the south.
They may, however, represent post medieval drainage ditches, but as they are blurred in nature and only visible on one set of photographs it is difficult to be certain.
E. Bales (NMP), 12 February 2010.
