Full Description
February 2010. Norfolk NMP.
Undated linear cropmarks and soilmarks, possibly medieval to post medieval field boundaries, are visible on aerial photographs on land to the north of Duck Farm, Little Ellingham.
The features are centred on TM 0040 9815, and they consist of a broad and blurred germination mark of a ditch stretching from TM 0032 9809 to TM 0037 9824, which is on the same north northeast-south southwest orientation as a pair of possible bank features just over 100m to the east. The eastern-most of these banks, which stretches from TM 0047 9810 to TM 0050 9819, coincides with a field boundary visible on the tithe map of the area (S3), and it is therefore likely that all the features are medieval to post medieval field boundaries.
E. Bales (NMP), 15 February 2010.
