Summary

The cropmarks of fragmentary ditches, probably representing the remains of former field boundaries of unknown date, are visible on aerial photographs to the east of Bramerton village. Iron Age, Roman and Saxon date objects have been found within the general vicinity of the site (NHER 30689) and could indicate a broadly contemporary date for the cropmarks.

The cropmarks of fragmentary ditches, probably representing the remains of former field boundaries of unknown date, are visible on aerial photographs to the east of Bramerton village (S1). The site is centred on TG 2976 0427. Iron Age, Roman and Saxon date objects have been found within the general vicinity of the site (NHER 30689) and could indicate a broadly contemporary date for the cropmarks, although there is no direct relationship between the finds and the cropmarks.
Cropmarks within the area of this site relating to post medieval field boundaries depicted on the1838 Bramerton Tithe map (S2) have not been included within the NMP mapping.
