Map

November 2009. Norfolk NMP.
The cropmarks of ditches, probably representing the remains of former field boundaries of unknown date are visible on aerial photographs to the south of Furze Close, Kirby Bedon (S1). The site is centred on TG 2680 0463. Finds dating to the prehistoric, medieval and post medieval periods have been found within the immediate vicinity of these cropmarks (NHER 30310) and Roman material has been found within the wider vicinity, around 700m to the east (NHER 28996). The site is also located approximately 150m from possible route of a Roman road (NHER 9904). Given the morphology of the cropmarks it is feasible that these represent the fragments of fields dating to the Roman period, although this is not certain.
S. Horlock (NMP), 04 November 2009.
