Map

November 2009. Norfolk NMP.
The earthworks of possible ring ditch, potentially relating to post medieval agricultural feature, such as a stack stand, are visible on aerial photographs to east of Rectory Lane, Poringland (S1). The site is centred on TG 2739 0187. The possible ring ditch is slightly irregular in shape and width of ditch, and measures approximately 11m in diameter. This size is consistent with the size range normally exhibited by these sorts of features. An alternative interpretation is that the circular earthwork represents the site of a former pond, although the fact that one of the drainage ditches across the field, clearly cuts across the central area of this ring ditch, could suggests that it is an unlikely interpretation.
