Summary

The site of a World War Two Type 22 pillbox is visible on aerial photographs to the immediate east of the Stoke Holy Cross radar station (NHER 14227). This pillbox, along with another pair to the south (NHER 31129 & 52471), and searchlight batteries to the south (NHER 34192 & 52467) provided protection for the radar station.

The site of a type 22 World War Two pillbox is visible on aerial photographs (S1-S2) located within a field boundary to the immediate east of the Stoke Holy Cross radar station (NHER 14227). The pillbox is centred on TG 2623 0294. This pillbox, along with another pair to the south (NHER 31129 & 52471), and searchlight batteries to the south (NHER 34192 & 52467) provided protection for the radar station. This pillbox was removed post-World War Two.
