Full Description
December 2009. Norfolk NMP.
The cropmarks of field boundaries and ditches of unknown date and an incomplete enclosure of possible medieval to post medieval date are visible on aerial photographs to the east of Brickle Wood, within the parishes of Stoke Holy Cross and Poringland (S1-S2). The site is centred on TG 2556 0288. A small incomplete enclosure is located at TG 2586 0212. The ditches appear to be broadly parallel or perpendicular to the surrounding field layout and the nearby parish boundary, indicating that may be medieval to post medieval in origin. The ditches to the north of the site are of unknown date and are likely to represent fragments of former field boundaries.
S. Horlock (NMP), 29 December 2009.
