Full Description
December 2009. Norfolk NMP.
The cropmarks of a dispersed area of several phases of former field boundaries are visible on aerial photographs to the north of Arminghall village (S1-S3). The site is centred on TG 2517 0505. At least some of these boundaries may be medieval to post medieval in date and could feasibily represent boundaries forming outlier parts of the medieval and post medieval settlements and field system associated with NHER 9877 and 52475 to the south. None of these boundaries is marked on available historic maps. The more fragmentary boundaries following a different alignment to the modern/medieval to post medieval field pattern are of unknown date and could potentially represent fragments of fields of later prehistoric to Roman date.
S. Horlock (NMP), 29 December 2009.
