Full Description
November 2008. Stray Find.
Found on beach in vicinity of Henry Blogg Museum:
1 possible Palaeolithic flint biface.
This small ovate object was initially seen by staff at the Ipswich Museum who confirmed that it "…is very likely to be a flint tool". Photographs were seen by P. Robins (NCM), who noted that it was indeed potentially a genuine artefact, though small for a handaxe. It appears that the object itself has yet to be formally examined.
See correspondence and copies of photographes in file.
P. Watkins (HES), 9 August 2017.
Before 28 september 2009. Stray Find.
Casual find on Cromer beach, precise location unknown:
1 ?Lower Palaeolithic rolled flint flake.
Identified by P. Robins (NCM), see description in file.
A. Rogerson, (NLA), 16 March 2010. Amended by P. Watkins (HES), 26 June 2014.
