Full Description
May 2010. Norfolk NMP.
The cropmarks of ditches, which are likely to be former field boundaries and a possible trackway, possibly of Iron Age to Roman date, are visible on aerial photographs (S1). The site is centred on TG 1454 1939. The date of the ditches is uncertain, although an Iron Age to Roman date is probable. Finds in the area include quantities of Iron Age and Roman date material (NHER 49097, 51581 & 51590-1). A number of other ditch-like cropmarks within the area of those mapped were dismissed as being of either natural origin or relating to modern drains, as are visible in 1946 (S2).
S. Horlock (NMP), 06 May 2010.
