Summary

The possible line of a Roman road running eastwards out of the Roman town at Caistor St Edmund (NHER 9786) is visible on aerial photographs and appears to have stayed in use as a field boundary until at least the post medieval period. This road would appear to represent a continuation of one of the roads recorded to the west under NHER 52229.

The possible line of a Roman road running eastwards out of the Roman town at Caistor St Edmund (NHER 9786) is visible on aerial photographs and appears to have stayed in use as a field boundary until at least the post medieval period (S1-S3). The site is centred on TG 2428 0339 and the linear runs from TG 2389 0342 to TG 2463 0337. This road would appear to represent a continuation of one of the roads recorded to the west under NHER 52229.
