Full Description
May 2010. Norfolk NMP.
A World War Two emergency water tank is visible as a structure on 1940s aerial photographs (S1)-(S2), centred at TG 2154 0698. It has been mapped as visible in 1947 (S2), when only the concrete base remained; the tank itself is visible in 1945 (S1), but unfortunately the photograph is not rectifiable and could not be used for mapping. Tanks such as these were used to supply water for fire fighting following bombing raids.
S. Tremlett (NMP), 12 May 2010.
