An area of at least five World War Two underground air raid shelters is visible on aerial photographs (S1-S3) on land to the north of Sprowston Middle School, centred on TG 2031 1215. They are visible as a row of earthwork mounds with rectangular entrances, and have been filled in by 1947 (S4).
