Full Description

April 2010. Norfolk NMP.
Linear cropmarks and possible sunken featured buildings are visible as cropmarks on aerial photographs on land to the south of Hellesdon golf course, centred on TG 2036 1120.
The features consist of two almost parallel east-west linear ditches, with a number of possible sunken featured buildings, the largest of which measures 14m by 8m. These features may also be geological, as there are several other similar geological marks in the vicinity, such as those recognised surrounding a linear ditch feature 400m to the southeast (NHER 53550). However, and early Saxon brooch was found nearby (NHER 20479), and this may be indication of occupation in the vicinity during this period.
