Summary

The remains of the vaulted cellars belonging to the Old Hall are still visible underneath the trees to the south of Stockmans Cottage.

Vaulted cellars of the manor house, later Cockley Cley Old Hall, now preserved under copse. Entrance via sloping grassed ramp and wooden door. The associated gardens contained c. 620 mixed fruit trees, of all types, in both the orchards and lining the garden paths, with espalier and fan-trained trained cherry, plum, and pear trees on the inner face of the Garden Wall and a large bed of Jerusalem Artichokes outside the East Wall of the Garden.
