Summary

One or more World War Two surface air raid shelters is visible as an extant structure/building on 1940s aerial photographs. It is difficult to tell for certain from the aerial photographs, but the elongated structure may have been segmented, perhaps made up of several smaller shelters laid end to end. Its location, surrounded by houses, suggests that it was used by local residents.

Map

One or more World War Two surface air raid shelters is visible as an extant structure/building on 1940s aerial photographs (S1)-(S3), centred at TG 2187 0815. It is difficult to tell for certain from the aerial photographs, but the elongated structure may have been segmented, perhaps made up of several smaller shelters laid end to end. Its location, surrounded by houses, suggests that it was used by local residents. It is somewhat isolated from, and rather different in character to, other elongated surface shelters erected in residential streets across the city (NHER 53667), hence it has been recorded individually.
