Summary

Up to two possible ring ditches and/or curvilinear enclosures of probable prehistoric date are visible as cropmarks on aerial photographs. They lie in an area of intense prehistoric ceremonial/funerary activity, adjacent to a Late Neolithic to Bronze Age barrow cemetery (NHER 53403). These marks too might mark the site of prehistoric barrows, although they are somewhat large and more oval shaped than the others that have been recorded. Also, the marks are visible on only a limited number of aerial photographs and are fragmentary, and their archaeological significance is not certain.
