Summary

The site of a World War Two barrage balloon and associated buildings is visible on aerial photographs alongside the River Wensum near the Trowse Swing Bridge. The balloon itself is not visible until 1943, however some elements of the site are present in 1942.

The site of a World War Two barrage balloon and associated buildings is visible on aerial photographs (S1-S3) alongside the River Wensum near the Trowse Swing Bridge. The site is centred on TG 2433 0763. The balloon itself is not visible until 1943 (S2), however some elements of the site are present in 1942 (S1). This relates to balloon site (Site 32) recorded in this area by Banger 2003 (S4).
