Summary

The site of a World War Two road block and checkpoint is visible on aerial photographs at Trowse Bridge over the River Wensum, Norwich. The road block consisted of a pair of road blocks and sockets for bent pins, vertical rails or similar barriers, set into road surface. Two possible linear ‘structures’ or marks on the road surface are visible on aerial photographs on the inner side of the road block in 1942. It is possible that these relate to a checkpoint or a secondary road block.
