Full Description
July 2010. Norfolk NMP.
The site of a possible World War Two gun emplacement or bomb crater is visible on aerial photographs to the north of Bracondale, Norwich (S1-S2). The site, which is centred on TG 2406 0736, consists of a circular pit surrounded by a penannular embankment. Whilst it is possible that this represent the remains of a gun emplacement, the seemingly non-strategic position could indicate that it is merely a bomb crater surrounded by upcast material from the impact. This feature has been partially or completely backfilled by 1951 (S3).
S. Horlock (NMP), 05 July 2010.
